FAQs

How do I schedule my first appointment?

Click the “Contact” button on the top right corner of the webpage to schedule a free 20-minute consultation call. This call will allow us to discuss if the services AAGPC provides are in alignment with your needs. If we move forward, your evaluation will be scheduled within 30 days from the consultation call.

What days do you see patients?

As this is a new practice, I will work with my patients to schedule appointments based on our mutual availability. However, I will be seeing patients primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, and weekends.

How do I prepare for my initial evaluation?

Patient evaluation forms will be sent shortly after the evaluation is scheduled. Please submit them at least 48 hours before your appointment in order to adequately review your written history. This will set us up to make the most of our virtual visit together.

What is your practice philosophy?

I believe in working hand in hand with my patients and “walking alongside” them while they seek care with me. You are the expert of your life and know best how you feel. I look to use the insight you share with me to develop the best plan of care possible. I believe medication is effective and plays a necessary role in improving quality of life, but I am a proponent of prescribing as few medications as needed, and focusing also on how one can improve their way of life. What type of physical activity do you enjoy? How can you build your support circle? What hobbies and creative pursuits bring you joy? If you don’t have answers to these questions, we will work to figure it out together.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 24 hours before the appointment will not be charged. Patients will be billed a no-show fee of half the visit cost if cancellation are made less than 24 hours before their appointment.

Why should I opt for you vs. an insurance-based provider?

Providers who take insurance can be much more affordable and cost-effective. However, if there is flexibility in how you’re able to pay for your care, AAGPC affords you more time with a provider who cares about getting to know you. With insurance coverage comes strict time and clinical limitations that will not allow us to truly explore and dig deep into your history and what needs to be addressed. Being an out-of-network provider allows us freedom to chart our own course with your mental health care, and create a plan that allows us to consider treatment options that are often not covered by insurance providers.

I don’t live in New York, Connecticut, or Illinois. Can I still work with you?

Possibly! As a provider licensed in NY, CT, and IL, all patients must reside in the states, or be physically located in the states at the time of the virtual visit for licensing and regulation purposes.
