Practice Services
90 minute Evaluation Appointments
Initial appointments are 90 minutes. Where other practices may allot 30-60 minutes for evaluation appointments, the patient meets the provider for the first time and will not feel rushed. Substantial patient information will be gathered prior to the first visit, but nothing can replace the one on one patient/provider interaction, and being able to hear about the patient’s lived experience in their own words. Everyone has a story, and this time is devoted to the provider learning about the patient: their likes, dislikes, hopes, fears, childhood experiences, trauma, how they see the world, and what in their life contributed to their point of views and perspectives held in present day. It is foundational to building the relationship between the patient and myself long term.
45 minute Follow-up Appointments
Follow-up appointments are 45 minutes. Within this time frame, the patient is able to take their time and share any updates since their last appointment. We are able to focus on specific points that may need to be addressed and apply appropriate therapeutic modalities as necessary. We’re able to devote time to discussion around medication and address any potential updates or changes that need to be made. Lastly, we conclude with summarizing the main points of the visit, and discuss follow-up around therapy, medication, and goals for overall wellness.
Direct Access
Patients have direct access to myself as their provider. Means of communication do not involve a middleman and patients can be assured that they are reaching me directly for any questions or concerns.
Creative Emphasis
A strong emphasis is placed on creativity and identifying what brings joy to the patient. Everyone is creative in their own way, whether or not they’ve had the opportunity to discover that in their lives to this point. Alongside therapeutic support and medication management, I will work with my patients to discover, or rediscover their creative nature and what truly makes them feel like their best selves.
Discretionary Prescribing
No controlled substances are prescribed at AAGPC. While the practice provides quality medication support, the long term goal is to work together and improve the most importance components of mental hygiene in a person’s life: movement and physical activity, mindfulness, proper diet and eating, social support and emphasis on creativity.
Supportive Documentation
Letters of support for short-term disability, FMLA, remote work requests, or emotional support may be provided to established patients of one year or longer at the discretion of the provider, considering their comprehensive psychiatric history and completion of a thorough risk/benefit analysis.
